7月15日は、御茶ノ水で開かれる今学期最後のクラスでした（来週は、富士市で移動教室）。
礼拝では、ヨハネの福音書7章の14節から24節より、「うわべで人を裁かないで、正しい裁きをしなさい」というイエスの言葉をご一緒に
考えました。イエス時代の宗教指導者は、イエスが安息日に病人をいやされたことを批判したが、それにに対しイエスは、彼らが安息日で
あっても割礼を授けていることを指摘し、安息日に人を癒したとしても律法に違反するわけではないと反論された。そして、表面的な既成概念で法を適用するのではなく、ものごとの一番大切な点を見極め、愛を持って的確に判断するよう勧められたのである。深く考えさせられるときだった。
午前中のクラスでは、受講生から質問のあった村上春樹の話題作「１Q８４」の解説があった。主人公の一人（青豆という女性）が子供時代エホバの証人と関わりがあったことの意味についてともに考えた。こういう小説が真正面から取り上げられるところがJWTCのいいところかな、と思わされた。
午後のクラスではまず,8年ぶりにJWTCに出席された元長老の石坂さんがどのように組織から脱退したかを証詞してくださった。（続いて野村さんが（不活発のエホバの証人として在籍）最近の「ものみの塔」誌より「思慮深い忠実な奴隷級」の解釈が変更されていることを解説してくださった。主の記念式の表象物にあずかる人々（全部で14万4千人）が、このところ毎年増えている（本当は減らなければならない）ため、組織は1935年に天に行く人は終わったという説明を引っ込め、新しい解釈を提示しなければならなくなっているわけである。ものみの塔という組織が、自分たちが教えたい教理をつくり出すため、聖書を勝手気ままに解釈しているグループであることが、ますます明らかになったひと時だった。
