今週のメッセージ : ２０１１年２月２３日の授業から
昨日のニュージーランドで起こった地震のニュースに心痛めながら、JWTCのクラスに足を運びました。もし証人時代だったら、自分はハルマゲドンがそこまで来ているとの切迫感にせきたてられ、戸別訪問をしていただろうな、などと考えながら・・・。
礼拝では、ローマ5:12-21より、イエスはすべての人のために死なれ、全人類の贖いの代価を払われた。それによって人間に対する裁きは完全に終わり、救いの道が開かれた。恵みとは、罪を犯した人間に対して取られた神の対応を示す言葉である。つまり、神はキリストにおいて人間の罪を裁かれ、その人を受け入れる。その恵みによって神は、キリストの義を人間の義と数え、永遠の命を備えられた。信仰とは、神が私たちを受け入れてくださったことを受け入れることに他ならない。この恵みを受け入れるという信仰があって初めて、キリストの贖いがその人のものとなり、永遠の命が与えられる。私はこれまで、裁き、贖い、恵み、信仰というような大切な言葉をあいまいにしか理解してこなかったことに気づかされました。そしてキリスト教の本質がやっと分かりかけてきたような気がしました。そして平安な気持ちになりました。
今日もたくさんのJW出身者、家族の方々が参加していたからだろうか、現役の信者である家族といかに対話をしたらよいのかという質問が集中した。結論としては、書物やインターネット情報を駆使して相手をやっつけるような姿勢はいけない。むしろ、話している相手から得た情報を一つずつ整理し、丁寧に質問し返して、相手が自分の頭で考えるように仕向けることがコツだと教えていただきました。確かにその通りなのですが実際には今一つうまくいかないというのが、多くの出席者の反応でした。
午後のクラスでは、「王国宣教」の3月号が取り上げられた。4月17日の主の記念式についての解説が中心。特に、14万4千人しか象徴物にあずかれないということについては、正直言って現役時代には何の疑問も持ちませんでした。でもよく考えてみれば、本当におかしなことなのだな、と実感しています。
JWTCのクラスに出席して学ぶたびに、ものみの塔の信仰は、聖書から大きくかけ離れた信仰なのだなと分かってきます。自分の目が開かれてくればくるほど、証人の方達に、この真理を知っていただくために神様に「一日も早く助け導いてください」と、さらに祈りを深めたいと思いました。
